White-field removal
Remove White from Image Online
Turn a white paper or logo field transparent without asking an AI model to guess the subject. Start with a restrained range, then widen it only enough to catch off-white edge pixels.

Protect pale details
Start exact before widening the whites.
Pure white, warm paper, and JPEG-compressed white are not the same color. A lower starting tolerance protects pale artwork; Connected area prevents interior white details from disappearing when only the outside paper should be cleared.
- 01
Click the paper or field
Sample an open white area rather than an edge, highlight, or antialiased letterform.
- 02
Inspect pale details
Use the checkerboard and Compare control to confirm light artwork has not become transparent.
- 03
Expand the range carefully
Increase tolerance until off-white paper clears, then use Edge Softness for the final fringe.
White sample / 01
Paper out. Dark mark retained.
The self-made FORMA mark uses a white field, dark geometry, and a coral accent. Connected mode removes the outside white while preserving intentional light areas enclosed by the artwork.
Where white behaves like material
Paper, canvas, and exported backgrounds.
White removal works best when the background is deliberately flat or only gently shaded—not when white is an essential part of a photograph.
- 01Signatures and handwriting
Lift dark ink from clean white or warm paper for a document, slide, or layout.
- 02Logo exports
Clear the white rectangle around a supplied logo without redrawing its vector mark.
- 03Scanned line artwork
Remove an even paper tone while preserving dark contours and intentional colored annotations.
White-removal questions
Keep the light details you mean to keep.
The safest white-removal workflow depends on whether white is only a background or also part of the artwork.
01How do I make a white background transparent?
Upload the image, click an open part of the white background, inspect the checkerboard, and raise tolerance gradually until the remaining off-white pixels clear.
02How can I keep white details inside a logo?
Use Connected area and sample the outside background. It follows matching pixels connected to that point instead of removing every white region.
03Why does scanned paper need more tolerance?
Paper texture, lighting, scanner noise, and JPEG compression create several near-white colors rather than one exact white value.
04Can Edge Softness clean a gray halo?
A small amount can soften threshold-edge pixels, but tolerance should first include the halo color. Edge Softness does not blur the whole image.
05Does removing white lower the image resolution?
No. The preview is compact for responsiveness, but download recalculates the result at the source image dimensions.
