A deliberately narrow tool
RemoveColor exists for a specific image task: choose a color, control how closely surrounding pixels must match, and make the matching area transparent. It is not a general photo editor or a subject-detection service.
That narrow focus is useful for logos, icons, signatures, scans, flat color fields, and green-screen-like assets where you know what color should disappear.
Built around local processing
The editor decodes the selected image, samples pixels, calculates the preview, and creates the PNG download in the browser. RemoveColor does not provide an image-upload endpoint or an account-based image library.

How the editor makes decisions
You control the target color, tolerance, Edge Softness, and whether all matching pixels or only a connected area should be affected. The tool does not guess the subject or send the image to an AI API.
The preview is designed for adjustment, while the final export reruns the selected settings at the original image dimensions and downloads a transparent PNG.
What color removal cannot promise
A color-based rule cannot reliably separate foreground and background when both contain the same or very similar colors. It works best when the chosen field is visibly distinct from the detail you want to keep.
Keep the original image, inspect the checkerboard preview, and verify the downloaded PNG before using it in a finished design or publication.
